Dubrovnik Croatia
We stayed within the old town in Dubrovnik and I really suggest if you go you do that. The place we stayed was really nice but didn’t have WiFi. That was a blessing in some ways. We spent a lot of time in the courtyards late at night taking in the food and grappa, so the grappa. I fell in love with it here and it continued on during this European tour.
It was very touristy, more so then I thought it would be. Not so much as North Americans, but Europeans. A lot of eastern Europeans and man were they all dolled up. At least the women were. I felt under dressed at times.
We walked all the way around the wall of the old town one day and that was a highlight. We also took the tram up to the top of the hill next to the old town and had dinner there and watched the sunset. This is a must if you go there.
I would go back to Croatia in a heartbeat. I would love to explore some of the small islands. They have Uber Boats there to take you around to the smaller island, how cool is that?
My buddy John is from Croatia and still has family there. His dad grew up on one of the smaller islands. i would love to go back with him one day and experience it form a local perspective.
