Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro

Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimajaro

Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro

What an amazing experience! I had a million thoughts going through my head while I was on the mountain. I’ve decided going forward to keep most of my thoughts to myself as I sometimes am too open. What I will share with you is the reason I was so nervous about this trip. I still struggle physically from breaking my back 5 years ago. Sometimes if I over exert myself or go on long hikes both of my legs go numb from the knees down causing me to lose mobility and sometimes tripping and falling on rocks or roots. In the 7 days on mount Kilimanjaro not once did I trip and fall, not once did I stumble or falter.I’m not a religious man, I’ve always been drawn to science but I am open to the idea. I think for me personally that if I believe definitively one way or another that I would be ignorant as there isn’t definitive proof either way. Therefore I keep an open mind. As I sit at 19341 feet at Uhuru Peak on the highest free standing mountain in the world and watch the sunrise come up over the cradle of civilization I can’t help but think, if there is a God, surely he was with me on the summit this day.
